FEKC Nostromo is a compact friction folder. A friction folder is a folding knife that doesn’t have a locking mechanism. It uses the handle’s friction against the tang to stay open. When the blade is in the fully open position, your palm and fingers prevent the blade from closing.
The knife is incredibly simple in design, less parts, less problems.

Blade steel
- Bohler K110 is a high carbon, cold work tool steel known for its edge retention, toughness, and ease of sharpening. The steel offers a combination of wear resistance and toughness. Its edge retention and ease of sharpening make it a suitable choice for everyday carry knives.
bLADE DESIGN
- A 2.5mm thick blade is ideal for everyday cutting tasks.
- Index finger choil prevents the blade from closing in on your fingers.
- Sharpening choil is added for ease of sharpening.
Tang design
- Short blade tang for easy manipulation.
for long usage
- A blade will get smaller with sharpening so we maximize the blade width for long usage.
- To prevent problems with an exposed knife tip when the blade becomes smaller with sharpening, the blade sits deep in the handle in the closed position.
Non-spinning screws
- To prevent "Free spinning pivots" we use D-shaped female pivots for all screws.
- Adjustable pivot screw modifies blade tension. (Torx screws on the Nostromo folder are all T-8.)
- The hidden stop pin keeps the blade from hitting the backspacer when the knife is closed.
- Bronze washers help the blade to become more ridged in the handle.
